The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) introduced new education standards in May 2018. From September 2020, organisations delivering NMC approved nursing and midwifery courses must use the new Education Standards. This will affect nursing and midwifery students, nurse apprenticeships and trainee nursing associates.

The way in which practice-based learning is delivered has changed.
