My Membership Pack

In addition to one-to-one careers telephone coaching and online materials, the RCN has over 35 professional forums so you can network with fellow members and explore the variety of nursing roles available. We offer support with your practice placement, because we understand that going from a lecture theatre to a ward can be daunting. We also have a counselling service should you need it.

We know money can be tight when you’re studying, so we offer financial advice, an online Student Money Guide, and our money-saving RCNXtra scheme.

Nurse

Nurse membership is available to anyone with a nursing, midwifery or health visitor qualification registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC). You'll receive all RCN benefits, and for your first year of membership, you'll only pay 50%.

Health practitioner

Health Practitioner membership is available to those who work, providing health or social care in any setting, under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse, midwife or health visitor and who are not on a professional register (such as NMC or HCPC). 

Retired nurse

Retired members remain an integral part of the RCN and continue to contribute experience and expertise. You'll continue to receive services and benefits at a reduced cost.

Forums are a huge area of influence and provide valuable opportunities for networking and getting involved in consultation responses, events and publications. We have more than 30 forums covering the History of Nursing, Women’s Health, School Nursing, Defence Nursing, Mental Health and much, much more.

Forum members can apply to be a voting member at Congress. You’ll attend all the debates and vote on resolutions. You’ll need to discuss the debates with your forum committee before and after Congress, and ensure that you have a good understanding of the topics under discussion. In return, we’ll book your travel and accommodation and cover your expenses*. Sign up today and get involved!
